We’re all about playground play – even in winter. Riverdale Park East, the vast greenspace along Broadview Ave (between Gerrard Ave E. and Danforth Ave) unveiled Toronto’s newest skating rink and ice trail and a cozy lounge to get geared up and warm up. The new playground is well on it’s way to completion (scheduled for spring 2018.)

Getting there: The new playground is in the north east corner of Riverdale Park East. (550 Broadview Ave.) Super accessible by TTC (Broadview Station or the Broadview streetcar). There is paid and street parking the hood.

Low-down: The natural playground designed by Toronto’s DTAH boasts swings, slides and lots of climbing features. Here’s what’s in store for when it’s completed in spring 2018. PS – Riverdale Park East has one of the best views of the Toronto skyline.

Coffee fix: Rooster Coffee along Broadview Ave.

In the hood: Toboganning in the winter. Free activities in the area: Walk across the pedestrian bridge to Riverdale Farm. At the corner of Gerrard and Broadview, you can visit the former Don Jail.
